Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Blue Quail Sound (“Blue Quail Sound,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Golden Ears Club, including its website, listening room, profiles, music uploads, chat, feedback, notifications, and statistics (the “Service”). The Service is owned and operated by Blue Quail Sound.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information. When you sign in with Google and create a club profile, we receive account information made available through the sign-in flow, such as your Google account identifier and email address, and the username and profile details you choose to provide. A profile may include a username, avatar, profile links, membership date, and Golden Ears status.
Music and other content. We collect tracks, track titles, cover artwork, and related information you upload. We also collect chat messages, mentions, reactions, feedback, and other content you submit. Your username, avatar, track information, and chat in the listening room may be visible to other visitors or members. Do not post private or sensitive information in public areas.
Activity and feedback information. To operate the room and its features, we process information such as track playback and selection, listening-room presence, lottery entries, skips, reactions, feedback notifications, and interactions with the Service. We use some activity to prepare aggregate statistics and community features. Public Nerd Stats are designed to show aggregate information rather than listener identities or private feedback details.
Reports and safety information. If you report content or a user, we collect the report and related information needed to review it, which may include the reported message or content, the people involved, and the report status.
Device and usage information. Our hosting and service providers may process technical information when your browser connects to the Service, such as IP address, browser and device details, request times, and diagnostic or security logs. We do not currently use third-party advertising pixels on the Service.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts; create and display profiles; store, deliver, and play uploaded music; run chat, presence, feedback, notifications, and track-selection features; calculate membership and community statistics; prevent abuse and investigate reports; maintain security; troubleshoot and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations.
When feedback screening is enabled, chat-message text may be sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to help identify specific or constructive feedback and distinguish it from short general reactions. The system screens message text; it is not used to analyze the audio of your uploaded track. Automated screening can be mistaken and does not guarantee that feedback is accurate or useful.
3. How we share information
With other users and visitors. Profiles, profile images, user names, track details, and listening-room content are shown as needed for the community features you use. Chat and track playback occur in a shared listening room. Public profile links and content you choose to post may be accessible to anyone who can visit the Service. Some feedback notifications are visible to the artist whose track was playing when the comment was made.
With service providers. We use providers that help operate the Service. Google provides account sign-in. Supabase provides authentication, database, real-time features, and profile or other image storage. Cloudflare provides website hosting, audio storage and delivery through R2, and the optional Workers AI feedback-screening function. Google Fonts may load typefaces used by the site. These providers process information as needed to provide their services and under their own terms and privacy practices.
For legal, safety, or business reasons. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe it is needed to comply with law or valid legal process, protect people or rights, investigate abuse or security incidents, enforce our Terms, or respond to a business transfer such as a merger or sale, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information for money or use the Service to serve third-party targeted advertising. We may share information with the service providers described above to operate the Service.
4. Cookies, browser storage, and notifications
The Service uses browser storage for necessary functions such as maintaining your sign-in session and remembering preferences, including theme, autoplay, and some interface settings. This information is stored in your browser and may be cleared through its settings; clearing it can sign you out or reset preferences. The Service does not currently use advertising cookies.
Feedback notifications are currently provided inside the Service. The site does not currently request permission for operating-system push notifications.
5. Retention
We keep account and profile information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Uploaded tracks and images remain available until you remove them or request account closure, subject to reasonable time needed for removal from active systems, backups, caches, or technical logs. Room chat is configured to be available for up to 30 days and then removed on a scheduled basis. Reports, moderation records, security logs, aggregate statistics, and backup copies may be retained longer when reasonably needed for safety, service operation, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Retention periods at our providers may also apply.
6. Your choices and privacy requests
You can edit profile details, remove tracks you uploaded, delete your own chat messages where that feature is available, and sign out. You can manage browser storage and Google account permissions through your browser and Google account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
To ask a privacy question, request account closure, or make a privacy request, email manny@bluequailsound.com. Please use the email associated with your account and describe the request. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond as required by applicable law. Some information may need to be retained for security, legal, or operational reasons.
7. Security
We and our providers use safeguards intended to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Use a secure Google account, keep your devices protected, and contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
8. Children
The Service is intended for music producers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
9. International processing
Blue Quail Sound and the Service’s providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their infrastructure operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy when the Service or our data practices change. We will post the revised Policy here and update its effective date. If a change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide it.
